I see it a lot – folks that have to buy an apartment building or do a flip on their own so they can beat their chest and brag – that they did it on their own. Been there done that had the disease. But now I’m cured.

I think the concept of vacation days is the only good idea that ever came out of corporate america. I just love the concept of getting paid for not working! And that’s one of the reasons why I never want to have W2 employees. 🙂

After a very busy weekend I was greeted by a flurry of activity today. Lots of calls and emails from people, some wanting to rent apartments before Christmas and some getting ready for the new year. It’s nice to build momemtum, and the year on a very high note, and start 2010 at a full sprint.

I always like going over to my apartment building. I’ve owned it for a year and I’m still in awe of it like the day I closed. It’s a pretty cool feeling! And as much as I don’t like working, when I get over there and get talking to present tenants and some prospective ones I realize how much fun it is. This was my favorite stop of the day – the first foreclosure that I have looked at in almost two years. And what a beauty it was. Great neighborhood with no other houses for sale. Landscaped lot, beautiful brick, and just stunning curb appeal. And the power was on. It still needs $20k worth of work, but it beats the cold, moldy pieces of sh** that I looked at before!
